The West Australian Football Commission (WAFC) is the peak Australian Football body in Western Australia that plays a key leadership, governance and funding role to football throughout the State whilst also driving the overall development and growth of the game. The WAFC is a not-for-profit organisation that plays an important role in funding the on-going development of football in all communities.

WA Football are now seeking a motivated, passionate and driven South West Auskick & Schools Coordinator to promote, develop and grow all aspects of Aussie Rules Football within the South West Region.

The role will create great relationships with stakeholders within the football community and school markets focusing around growing participation at a grass roots level, in particular through the Auskick program. The role will be primarily based at our Bunbury office with regular travel required throughout the South West region.

Key responsibilities:

• Implement the Play AFL campaign across the entire Region;
• Deliver opportunities for All Abilities players to participate in AFL programs;
• Development and promotion of school holiday clinics;
• Develop agreed Diversity & inclusion programs within District;
• Coordination of AFL9s programs;
• Provide ongoing support for all Auskick centres, including coach and parent education sessions to all Auskick centres, Auskick gala functions and meetings, and promotion of female participation;
• Coordinate and deliver school programs and competitions; and
• Development of conversion and transition strategies to drive school/club player transition.

 Key selection criteria:

• Certificate IV Sports Development, or relevant tertiary qualification;
• Level 1 Coaching qualification;
• Excellent written and verbal communications;
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
• Ability to work outside of normal working hours;
• High computer literacy; and
• Knowledge of the WAFC and South West Football structures (desirable).

All applicants will be required to present a current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance prior to commencement.

The role will be offered on a 2-year maximum term contract.
