Dual Sandover medallist Jye Bolton has called time on his decorated WAFL career.

After joining Claremont in 2016 , Bolton played 192 games and was recognised as a star of the WAFL, earning three EB Cook Medals as Claremont’s Club Champion , two Sandover Medals, four Simpson Medals and named eight times in the WAFL Team of the Year.

“I’m still going through the emotions of having made the decision and processing it,” Bolton told 6pr's Wide World of Sports.

“I’ve devoted so much of my life to the game and the last decade to Claremont has been such a great experience and I am grateful for the support I have had.”

Bolton grew up in Geelong and was taken in the Rookie Draft by Collingwood in 2011.

Having moved to WA in 2016 he claimed the Sandover Medal in his first season, backing up that performance by winning the Medal again in 2018.

Despite numerous finals appearances with the Tigers, Bolton finished his WAFL career without a flag, but many special memories.

“It hurts not being able to win a flag at a club I love but it wasn’t meant to be, and I can look back on my career with a fair degree of pride and satisfaction.”
