2025 WAFLW season review : East FremantleTuesday, October 21, 2025 - 2:35 PM

After reaching the past three Grand Finals and winning the 2023 premiership, East Fremantle fell two wins away from reaching this year’s decider.

In Matt Templeton’s second stint as senior coach at the club the Sharks ended their campaign in fourth position with nine wins and seven losses.

They bowed out of contention in heartbreaking fashion, going down by one point to Swan Districts in week one of the finals.

East Fremantle won five consecutive matches at the back end of the season but lost to the black and whites in Round 18 before going down to Swans again a week later.

On a numbers front, Noa McNaughton averaged 15 disposals in 15 games, May Louvel-Finn produced 13 disposals a game through 11 matches and Ash Gomes also averaged 13 touches during the season.

Sarah Wielstra led the goalkicking with 13 for the year, ahead of Anjelique Raison with 11 and Chloe Reilly 10.

The Sharks produced two State 18 representatives in forward Alicia Blizard and defender Louvel-Finn.

Brooke Repacholi won the Sharks fairest-and-best award.

Accustomed to challenging for flags, expect East Fremantle to be a dominant force in 2026.
