2025 WAFLW season review : Peel ThunderTuesday, October 21, 2025 - 2:30 PM

Despite not being able to match it with the top four sides, Peel Thunder had some positives to take out of the season.

The Thunder finished with a 4-12 record in seventh spot, ahead of just Perth and East Perth, with their best win of the season coming against South Fremantle in the penultimate round.

Ball magnet Chloe Wrigley averaged a competition-high 28.5 disposals per game and was ultra consistent throughout the season, leading from the front.

Wrigley, who won the Lou Knitter Medal as best-afield in the Thunder’s 2020 premiership, was also among the leading tacklers in the league with 112 in 16 appearances, an average of seven per game.

That body of work resulted in Wrigley being named the club’s fairest-and-best player for the season.

Draft prospect Evie Cowcher produced some brilliant performances early in the season before she was sidelined with a back injury which saw her miss the AFLW National Under-18s Championship.

Cowcher is still expected to go in the top 10 of the draft and potentially as high as the top five picks.
