In the women’s competition it was a griping Preliminary Final to continue a remarkable finals series.

Swan Districts 6.4 (40) v Subiaco 6.2 (38)

The Preliminary Final played out until the final seconds on Sunday as the Black Ducks produced the upset to advance to the decider.

Swans made all the early running booting four goals to zero in the opening quarter, before the Lions began climbing their way back.

Emily McGuire booted two for the visitors while young draft prospect Olivia Wolmarans added two for Subiaco.

Swans kicked just a single goal in the last term through Summer Adjuk to hold off a fast finishing Lions side which kicked three in the fourth period.

Carys D’Addario added another page to her resume being best on in a Preliminary Final at 18 years old, posting 26 disposals, seven tackles and a goal.

Naomi Baker and Jaime Henry played well, as did Isabella Edgley and Summer Adjuk.

For Subiaco, Krstel Petrevski, Hayley Corlett and Paige Shepherd all had strong performances, while Layla Quinn-Schofield and Tess Lyons contributed well too.

Subiaco miss out but Swan Districts will take on Claremont for the premiership cup this Sunday at 2.05pm at Mineral Resources Park in what is set to be a thrilling showdown.

The Grand Final can be seen on 7+ and will be broadcast on 91.3 Sport FM.
