The Falcons made their move at the weekend, beating ladder leaders Subiaco.
Here is a look at Round 16 in the WAFLW.
Claremont 14.8 (92) v East Perth 1.3 (9)
The Royals were taught a lesson by the Tigers who drew level with Subiaco in top spot on the ladder.
The race for the minor premiership has become a fascinating watch for the final few rounds after some unexpected results.
Mackenzie Webb won 25 disposals while Sarah Viney earned 22 possessions for Claremont and Matilda Husband was impressive through the ruck.
Claire Ortlepp was among the best, as were Abby Maynard and Jacinta Valentini who, along with Savannah Muir-Thompson each booted three goals.
Hannah Seaborn and Bec Anderson each slotted two majors, while for East Perth Summer Mollross, Elly Sara and Hayley O’Donnell were their best.
Swan Districts 12.10 (82) v Peel Thunder 2.2 (14)
Swan Districts continue to hang around in the race for the minor premiership, after they thrashed the Thunder at home on Saturday.
19-year-old Jaime Henry capped off a remarkable three-week block of form, winning 37 disposals and booting a goal.
That’s now three consecutive games winning 36 disposals or more to take her season average to over 25 per game.
Summer Ajduk was also great, as were Naomi Baker and Indiana West.
Taylah Edwards nailed another three goals to take her season tally to 29, the third most in a season on record.
Edwards would need 10 goals in the final two games of the home and away season to tie the all-time record.
She has all but secured the Joanne Huggins leading goal kicker award, making it two in two years for Swan Districts.
Summer Yarran also booted three, while for Peel it was a poor day outside of Chloe Wrigley.
West Perth 4.5 (29) v Subiaco 3.9 (27)
Inaccurate goalkicking caused the downfall of the top-of-the-table Lions, who now find themselves in a precarious position with two rounds remaining.
Subiaco kicked 1.7 in the final three quarters as the Falcons took advantage to remain within a game of the top four, still with a game in hand over the Sharks in fourth who have the bye this upcoming round.
Paige Sheppard and Lisa Stein led the Lions with plenty of the football, while Eva Popovsky, Tess Lyons and Charlotte Newland also impressed.
It was the Falcons though, led by Taylor Ferguson, Madison Dodd and Kayla van den Heever who got the result.
Amy Fortescue booted two goals and Mia Robis and Chloe Metcalf were also among the best.
West Perth now gets the chance to enter the top four should they secure a win over Claremont heading into the final round.
East Fremantle 10.4 (64) v Perth 3.1 (19)
The Sharks proved far too good for the Demons on Saturday evening, Natasha Entwistle, Noa McNaughton and Chloe Reilly doing the damage for the visiting side.
Reilly booted three goals while East Fremantle were also boosted by multiple majors from Angelique Raison and Larissa Versaci.
Madison Evans, Brooke Repacholi and Tiani Teakle were also amongst the best.
Holly Britton and Isabella Shannon each won 30 disposals for Perth and Taya Strickland kicked two goals, while Molly Warne was strong in the ruck.
East Fremantle cling to a one game lead over West Perth but have the bye this week, with a final round blockbuster against Swan Districts shaping up to be imperative.
