CLAREMONT and East Fremantle again flexed their WAFLW muscles conceding just one goal between them in Round 8 wins while West Perth and South Fremantle won to consolidate themselves in the top four.

Round 8 of the WAFLW season got underway on Saturday afternoon at Sullivan Logistics Stadium with the reigning premiers East Fremantle proving too strong for last year's wooden spooners, East Perth, winning 9.7 (61) to 1.1 (7).

Next up at Steel Blue Oval and it was third against fourth and West Perth was able to beat Swan Districts for the first ever time in the WAFLW competition with the 10.14 (74) to 1.11 (17) victory with Imahra Cameron kicking four goals against her former team.

The last game on Saturday in Round 8 took place also at Sullivan Logistics Stadium as part of the double-header with South Fremantle beating Subiaco 7.6 (48) to 4.8 (32) to make it three straight wins with the Bulldogs breaking into the top four.

Last up in Round 8 on Sunday was the clash of the 2022 premiership up against the back-to-back premiers of 2020 and 2021, but it was the undefeated Claremont too strong for the winless Peel Thunder 9.12 (66) to 0.2 (2).

The Round 8 results leave Claremont sitting on top of the WAFLW ladder unbeaten at 7-0 in front of East Fremantle who is now 6-1 having won four in-a-row.

West Perth remains third at 5-2 ahead of South Fremantle who has now won three straight to be 4-3.

Just outside the top four are Swan Districts (3-4) ahead of Subiaco (2-5), East Perth (1-6) and Peel Thunder (0-7).
