Sacred Heart Breaks the Ice Print E-mail

It was a case of third time lucky for Sacred Heart College in the Cable Division grand final of the Belt Up Cup.

Played as the curtain-raiser to Fremantle versus Essendon game last weekend, and a replay of the last two grand finals, Sacred Heart defeated a gallant Clontarf Football Academy by three points, 7.5 (47) to 6.8 (44) to win the Cable Division for the first time in front of a crowd of 4,500.

Jog to the "G" Print E-mail

The AFL School Ambassador from North Parmelia Primary School, Kate Anderson, last week staged a Jog to the “G” fun run to raise money for her school.

North Parmelia Year 6 students jogged laps of school oval to see if they could cover the same distance as it would take to get to the Melbourne Cricket Ground from Perth.

The school was split by factions into trams of Eagles (blue and yellow) and Dockers (red and green) to accomplish the task.

CBC goes back to back! Print E-mail
In a terrific promotion for school football, CBC Fremantle defeated a gallant Woodvale Senior High School by 12 points to win the Jakovich Division of the Belt up Cup for the second year in a row.

This year’s grand final was played as the curtain-raiser to the Fremantle versus North Melbourne match at Subiaco Oval on June 14 with CBC winning 8.7 (55) to 6.7 (43).

The Belt up Cup competition is the largest upper secondary school football competition in WA, with over 100 metropolitan and country schools competing this year.

Thursday, August 7 will mark 150 years since the first recorded game of football was played.
