Elected to WAFC Board 2019-2021, 2022-2024. Elected Chair 2020

Mr Martin has served the State and people of Western Australia in a variety of roles, most recently as Chief Justice of Western Australia, a position which he held from May 1, 2006 until his retirement from judicial office in July, 2018.
He is the current Lieutenant-Governor of Western Australia and has served as Chair and Board member of numerous professional, not-for-profit and government organisations during his lengthy legal career.
He has passionately followed football in Western Australia throughout his life and is the proud father of five children who have all participated in a wide-range of community based sports. 




Elected to WAFC Board 2021-2023

Dixie comes from a football family with intergenerational involvement in the game. She is a member of two WAFL Clubs, has family playing WAFL league/reserves and amateurs. She was the first woman AFL commentator on Australian television in 1986, for the 7 Network in Melbourne and the 9 Network in Perth, winning awards for football journalism and hosted the national sports programme, Sportsworld, with Bruce McAvaney. Dixie now runs content agency, Flare, and is the Managing Director of the Marketforce Group - part of the global Omnicom network. Dixie brings contemporary media, data, digital marketing and communication expertise to the Commission, along with a sound understanding of Australian/WA Government structure and policy, crisis management skills, and extensive traditional media knowledge and relationships.


Elected to WAFC Board 2020-2022

Mrs Banfield is Global Strategy Director at Worley, Perth, where she has held various roles for the past 20 years, supporting the Company's significant transformation into the largest energy and resources service provider globally. Her experience has included engineering, program management, marketing and communications, strategic planning, investor relations, corporate affairs, commercial strategy and business and financial planning across the New Energy, Oil and Gas, Mining and Infrastructure sectors. As the mother of four, she is actively involved in community football in various voluntary positions, which has allowed her to develop a deep understanding of the complexities and requirements of the game at grassroots level.





Elected to WAFC Board 2021-2023

Ian brings considerable commercial and financial experience to his role as WAFC Commissioner, this is complimented by an understanding of football gained through, playing and umpiring in several of the football competitions in Western Australia. Ian is currently Chief Operating Officer at Curtin University, Ian has a broad commercial knowledge, skill base and experience gained from CEO, COO and CFO roles across a variety of industries. As a Chartered Accountant and drawing on experience from his executive and Board roles, Ian brings to the Commission sound financial, commercial and strategy skills with a significant people and culture, health and safety, audit, risk management, digital innovation and governance background upon which to draw.



Elected to WAFC Board 2022-2024
Michelle has contributed to the State of Western Australia for over 30 years across numerous roles within the WA Police Department, including Assistant Commissioner of State Crime. In her current role as the Chief Executive Officer of St John Ambulance Western Australia, she provides strategic leadership, management and accountability of the ongoing delivery of services and financial security and viability of St John WA. In 2017 Michelle was awarded a Telstra Businesswomen’s Award  for the Public Sector and Academia. Michelle was honoured in the 2021 Queen's Birthday Honours with an Australian Police Medal in recognition of her service and achievements within the WA Police force. 

Elected to WAFC Board 2022-2024
Mark has participated and contributed to WA football for over 45 years, including as a player and as a Director of Finance for the Claremont Football Club, where he is recongised as a Premiership player and Life Member. In his professional capacity he is a certified practicing accountant and owns his own small accounting business, which provides business owners with confidence through competent & proactive accounting and tax services.





Elected to WAFC Board 2021-2023

Phil has been involved in football 44 years, including being actively involved in the WAFL. As a player of 227 WAFL league games, a selector at club and state level and a commentator of WAFL and AFL matches, he possesses a combination of experience across the various aspects of the game, an affinity with the clubs, club personnel, as well as many of the important stakeholders in WA football. Phil has been self-employed for over thirty years, as Joint Managing Director of Bay Financial Services, a finance broking company specialising exclusively in negotiating and arranging the financing of vehicles, plant and equipment for businesses. He is also the Founder and Managing Director of White Line Management, formed in 1995 to manage and support listed AFL and aspiring AFL Footballers as well as athletes from various disciplines.




Elected to WAFC Board 2018-2020, 2021-2023

Mr O’Donnell is Director of Finance and Investments at Australian Capital Equity. He completed 10 years as a Director of Fremantle      Football Club in February 2016, which included being Chairman of the Finance, Audit, Integrity and Risk Committee, and a member of the Joint WA Football Working Group for the New Perth Stadium. He was awarded Fremantle’s Con Regan Medal for his service in 2017. Brian is also a Director at Capilano Honey and The Guide Dog Foundation and is Chairman of BCI Minerals Limited. Roles in community sport have included junior cricket coach, junior football team manager, and Secretary of East Fremantle Cricket Club.
