Claremont's Jayme Harken wins Dhara Kerr MedalTuesday, July 11, 2023 - 9:43 AM

Claremont Football Club midfielder Jayme Harken has capped off a remarkable season to be crowned the 2023 Dhara Kerr Medallist at the WAFL Women’s Awards on Monday night at Crown Perth’s Astral Ballroom.

The midfielder claimed the WAFL Women’s fairest and best award after finishing with a record 24 votes in her first year with the Tigers, after moving from Subiaco.

Harken averaged 21 disposals in 2023 and had a standout performance in Round 15 against West Perth, amassing 35 disposals.

Harken’s win comes off the back of a great season for Claremont, who have remained undefeated all season and will be looking to complete the winning streak with a win over East Fremantle in the grand final on Saturday.

Other WAFLW League awards presented on the night included the Joanne Huggins Leading Goal Kicker Award to Adele Arnup (Claremont), and Renee Morgan (South Fremantle) taking out the Cath Boyce Rising Star award.

Arnup kicked a career high 26 goals for the Tigers.

The WAFLW Coach of the Year, presented by Fremantle Football Club, was taken out by South Fremantle coach Craig McNaughton.

West Perth’s Mia Russo had another standout season in the Rogers Cup, winning the Charmaine Rogers Fairest and Best for the second consecutive year.
Russo also represented WA in the AFL U16s National Championships.

Russo’s performance came off the back of a stellar season for the Falcons, who have remained undefeated ahead of the Rogers Cup Grand Final.

South Fremantle’s Nicole Taylor-Thorpe was named the Rogers Cup Leading Goalkicker, finishing the season with 19 goals.
