East Perth Colts Midfielder, Jordan Eastwell has been awarded the 2008 Jack Clarke Medal as the Fairest and Best player in the WAFL Colts Competition after polling 55 votes to finish 9 votes clear of South Fremantle's Joel Palumbo.

Eastwell skipped clear after polling well in the Round 21 clash and with South having the Bye in Round 22, Eastwell was 6 votes clear and couldn’t be caught.

Despite Palumbo picking up votes in the last round, Eastwell pushed home collecting best a field honours in the Royals Round 23 win against Perth to take the award with 55 votes.

It capped off a great night for Eastwell who along with Royals team mate Mark Hutchings was named in the WAFL Colts Team of the Year.

Eastwell joins a illustrious list of winners which includes the previous two winners, Adam Cockie and Ian Richardson, both of whom represented the WAFL at State Level in 2008.

Other recent notable winners include former Geelong defender Matt Spencer, now back at Swan Districts and current Docker Kepler Bradley.

Eastwell becomes the first Royal to win the award since Kevin Humphries won the award in 1995 in a three-way tie and just the second Royal in 32 years to take the award after Tony Capriotti took the then Medallists Medal (now Jack Clarke) in 1976.

Eastwell who relocated from Busselton this season to pursue WAFL football said in his acceptance speech his long-term aim was to join brother Jon at League level, as he is yet to have the opportunity to play in the same side, however his immediate thoughts are on this weekends 1st Semi-Final clash againt Claremont

The East Perth Football Club was delighted with Eastwell’s achievement and urges all Royals fans to get down to Fremantle Oval to support Jordan and the rest of the Colts Team on Saturday. Bouncedown is 9.15am
