This weekend could be called RIVALRY ROUND in the WAFL.

The Foundation Day long weekend is a traditional one in the WAFL and this coming Monday is no different.

Traditional rivals South and East Fremantle will do battle at Fremantle Oval, while East Perth and West Perth will renew acquaintances at Medibank Stadium.

Also on Monday, last year’s grand finalists Claremont and Subiaco do battle at Claremont Oval.

Leading into the three games on Monday, Peel Thunder and Perth face off at Rushton Park in the only Saturday game for the weekend.

So how can you judge who’s best on ground if you’re not there? Don’t wait to read about the game in the paper, when you can be there to see it with your own two eyes!

Hear the thump of the football, listen to the players talk to each other and become part of the huddle to listen to the coach at quarter time. Don’t forget to take a footy for a kick of the football on the ground at half time.

Get to a game this weekend and be a part of the action.

East Fremantle has won two of its last four against South Fremantle, including their last two at Fremantle Oval. It has been 13 years since the Sharks have beaten the Bulldogs three times in a row at Fremantle Oval.

West Perth will be aiming for its 150th win against arch rivals East Perth.

Only one goal separates these two teams in 116 meetings at Leederville dating back to 1915 – the year that Leederville Oval was opened. The Royals have scored 1479 goals against the Falcons and the Falcons have scored 1478 goals against the Royals.

For the Tigers and Lions, they are all even in head to head clashes at Claremont Oval. After 115 meetings at this ground, each side has 57 wins. One match was drawn. The Lions have actually lost their last two games at this venue and 3 of their last 4 – including the second semi-final of 2007.

Peel Thunder will be looking for a third consecutive win against the Demons and equal a club record. Peel beat Perth three times in a row between 2000 and 2001. It has never won four in a row against any club. But, on five occasions, Peel has won two in a row against an opponent.

Entry price to the WAFL is only $10 for adults, $7 concession and free for kids under 15. Remember RAC members receive a discounted entry price for $7 when showing their membership card.
