Webb retired as a player last year and took on the role of assistant coach to Chris Waterman looking after the midfield at Subiaco.
Webb finished his 192 game playing career as a four time Premiership player at Subiaco (2004, 2006, 2007, & 2008), three time Premiership Captain, a Simpson Medallist in 2006, Best Fairest in 2003, and a State representative three times.
Webb beat a quality field of applicants for the coaching position at Claremont.
Claremont President Ken Venables said the club needed to find the suitable replacement for Simon McPhee who would continue to build on the strong culture and values built over the past three years.
"Although Marc has limited experience in coaching, he has an abundance of knowledge, with the latest game trends, forward thinking and well planned structures which will suit our playern group.

Webb said he was extremely excited to be given the opportunity to coach the Claremont League side.
