Another big season for WAFL attendances

THE West Australian Football League has recorded its third highest attendance figure for a season since 1994 following the final round of home and away fixtures on the weekend.

A total of 199,002 attendees were recorded for the 2011 AAMI WAFL Premiership Season, which was down just 1.1% on last year’s 201,225 (or 25 people per game).

Another 50,267 are required at this year’s finals series to exceed last season’s cumulative attendance of 249,269, which included 11,855 at the semi finals, 11,551 at the preliminary final and 24,638 at the Grand Final.

This was up 1.6% on 2009’s overall total of 245,289 (home & away + finals).
