AN Olympic gold medallist, police officer and former Miss Australia winner will all pull on a pair of football boots to raise funds for a great cause when Subiaco Football Club hosts the inaugural All-Stars Charity Game at Medibank Stadium on Thursday, February 4.
Being held by Subiaco in conjunction with The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, the first annual Charity Game will see Subiaco take on a WA All Stars side including police officer Matt Butcher, Australian pole-vaulter and Olympic Gold Medallist Steve Hooker, and 2005 Miss Australia winner Michelle Guy.
The WA All Stars Team will be coached by football great, David Parkin, who was inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame in 2002 and was a premiership player for Hawthorn. Parkin is currently an ambassador for PCFA and has recently undergone surgery to remove his cancerous prostate.
Subiaco Football Club recently became community partners with PCFA and is using its position within the community to raise awareness about the most commonly diagnosed cancer that effects men.
The game will be held at Medibank Stadium on February 4th with bounce down at 6.30pm. The format will consist of 4x15 minute quarters with modified rules.
Entry fee will be a gold coin donation with all proceeds going towards the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. For further information contact Simonette Cox at Subiaco Football Club on 9208 9999.
