AFL legend and popular TV personality Sam Newman is sure to stir up some controversy when he makes a visit to the Perth Football Club to chat about life, women, and all things football.

The former Geelong player has been in hot water all year following his infamous antic on Channel Nine’s The Footy Show in which he pulled out a scantily clad mannequin.

Newman further dug his way into trouble when he made the televised comment that female board members serve “very little purpose” in football.

This should make for a very interesting afternoon when Newman steps into the only WAFL club with a female CEO, Liz Bradley.

“Sam is an entertainer and I have no doubt he will do his best to ensure that the crowd at the lunch will get more than their money’s worth in amusement,” Ms Bradley said.

Newman’s quick wit is sure to be in full force as tries to talk his way out of trouble at the club’s Sportsman’s lunch on Friday, August 8 at Lathlain Hall.

For those who want to get up-close-and-personal with the proverbial pot stirrer, tickets are $75 and include a three course meal with fine wine and beer.  To book call the club on 9362 4499.

The club would like to thank Jason Windows who kindly sponsored this event.
