THE top four teams are deadlocked on the West
Australian Football League ladder after leaders Swan Districts and West Perth
were defeated in another exciting round of action at the weekend.
South Fremantle are back at the top on percentage after a convincing 80-point win over West Perth at Fremantle Oval on Saturday, while Subiaco are in second spot following their 21-point win against Swan Districts in the Grand Final replay at Medibank Stadium.
It was a goal-scoring feast for the Bulldogs, with Callum Wilson booting five goals and Jeff Farmer, Ryan Murphy and Nathan Phillips all scoring four each, while Daniel Gilmore collected 34 possessions.
Subiaco’s win was set up by Shaun Hilderbrandt, who kicked four goals and had 31 disposals in a best on ground performance, while Marc Webb was also outstanding with 32 possessions and seven marks.
Swan Districts and West Perth have slipped to third and fourth on percentage to round out the top four with seven wins each, while East Fremantle are hovering just outside the four after notching up their sixth win on Saturday.
The Sharks defeated Peel Thunder by 37 points at Rushton Park, while the other Round 12 contest on Saturday saw Perth triumph over East Perth by 48 points at EFTel Oval, spearheaded by five goals from Tim Ruffles.
