The West Australian Football Commission (WAFC) is the peak Australian Rules Football body in Western Australia that plays a key leadership, governance and funding role to football throughout the State whilst also driving the overall development and growth of the game. The WAFC is a not for profit organisation that plays an important role in funding the on-going development of football in all communities.

The WAFC's vision is to connect and enhance WA communities through our great game. This will be underpinned by a focus on delivering against the core objectives of Engagement, Talent and Sustainability. WA Football is in an exciting period and we are now in the market for a dedicated and driven Talent Manager – Claremont who is able to play a key role in the WA Talent Model, develop best practice talent identification and form a deep connection between WAFL zoned clubs and talented players. 

Key responsibilities:

• Work in collaboration with WAFL club staff, directors and volunteers to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes
• Develop and deliver the strategic plan for the WA talent pathway at the Claremont Football Club
• Ensure compliance with WAFC minimum standards and AFL Benchmarking documents
• Oversee the delivery of best practice program delivery within the WAFL club environment and talent program
• Oversee the development of a talent identification framework and strategy that identifies and supports new talent
• Act as the direct line manager for the Colts Coach in the relevant WAFL club
• Work closely with the WAFC in order to drive the talent agenda and ongoing education of the WAFC management on talent issues.
• Provide leadership and management support to key volunteer staff

To be considered for this position you will need to demonstrate the following essential criteria:

• Extensive understanding of WA football structure and the issues involved in the talent pathway
• Outstanding stakeholder management skills
• Experience in working with a range of stakeholder groups
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and relationship building skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage operations in a timely, organised and professional manner
• High level strategic thinking acumen
• Demonstrated leadership capability
• Ability to work outside of normal working hours
• Current Working with Children Check
