State 18s defeat Vic Country

POSSIBLE Greater Western Sydney mini-draft prospects Jack Martin and Jesse Hogan played starring roles in Western Australia's upset win over Vic Country at Patersons Stadium on Sunday.

WA held off a fast-finishing Country outfit to record an 18-point win, 13.14 (92) to 11.8 (74), throwing wide open the 2012 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships.

The classy Martin displayed his quality with 23 disposals, two goals and nine tackles, while Hogan finished with three majors.

Both players qualify for the GWS mini-draft; a trade incentive for other AFL clubs to swap draft picks or experienced players with the Giants in exchange for a gun youngster.
