| Match of the Week - Wesley Curtin v West Coast Cowan |
Wesley Curtin has lacked consistency in the latter part of the season and will be keen to finish the season with a win to secure second spot and a home final against reigning premiers, North Beach.
While Wesley Curtin has improved greatly as a team under new coach Marty Atkins, the club has also experienced individual achievements with four players, Scott Harman, Scott Horsburgh, Bradley Horsman, and Brett Stanford representing Western Australian in the West Coast Eagles U23 State Amateur team. Scott Horsburgh also gained selection in the Australian Amateur Football Council’s International Rules team that will tour Ireland in early October. West Coast Cowan will be buoyed from its victory over Whitford in last week’s replay of the 2007 B Grade Grand Final. Although disappointed with not making the finals after promotion to A Grade this season, they will be looking to finish the year off with a win against one of the premiership contenders and head into 2009 with confidence. West Coast Cowan players and supporters are reminded that the Annual Ball will be held at the Mercure Hotel on Saturday 20th September. Tickets available from L. Stringer on 0431 928 366. Both Clubs would like to thank their sponsors for their support throughout 2008. |
