Subiaco Football Club player Des Headland presented a unique set of playing jumpers at Westminster Primary School on Monday to the winners of the West Australian Football Commission’s Design a Football Jumper Competition.
Students at Westminster Primary, which is in the Subiaco District, were thrilled to meet Headland and receive their playing jumpers, which were designed by Year 7 student Timothy Do.
The WAFC ran the Design a Football Jumper competition in 2012 in conjunction with Burley Sekem.
Almost 60 schools from around the State took part in the competition which involved designing a football jumper reflecting the ethos and colours of the school, while taking into account other aspects of the community such as local landmarks, location of the school and cultural influences.
The entries were voted on by a judging panel with Westminster Primary School being the metropolitan winner and Useless Loop Primary School the regional winner.
Burley Sekem has produced a set of playing jumpers in the winning designs for each school.
