New Perth Stadium concept designThursday, July 17, 2014 - 2:24 PM

The West Australian Football Commission is pleased to see the new Perth Stadium project reach a major milestone today, Thursday, July 17.

Football has welcomed its significant involvement to date in developing the Project Brief that has led to today’s release of the concept designs. The WAFC is very confident that the needs of the WA AFL teams and the expectations of the WA football public will be met and a new standard of football experience will be delivered.

The WAFC now eagerly anticipates the completion of commercial negotiations with the State.  The WAFC’s key priority is to ensure that the new stadium builds on the current integrated WA football model, which has been extremely successful for the game in this State.

Financial arrangements flowing from the stadium must enable the WAFC to fulfil its overarching responsibility to grow, promote and develop the game at every level across WA.

Negotiations with the State on those arrangements and the role of the WAFC at the stadium are critical to the continued growth in participation and interest in the game and ultimately the success of the stadium as a place for all West Australians.
