Kimberley Football Boot Drive - in Memory of Brett ClaudiusTuesday, August 25, 2020 - 8:08 AM

Brett Claudius was passionate about using footy as a tool to share knowledge, spread awareness, and practice good health and wellbeing to the Indigenous people of the Kimberley. Brett worked tirelessly, to build strong relationships with remote communities that engaged and encouraged their people to better themselves every day. He got kids excited and moving, and gave them something to love in footy.

In his memory, his nieces Holly and Zoe started the Brett Claudius Kimberley Boot Drive to deliver boots to Kimberley communities. Holly, Zoe and her brother formed the idea when they had 10 pairs of old boots around the house just between them. The girls are asking for old pairs of boots, in any size and colour, that people may have around the house.

Holly will deliver all the boots that are donated to children and adults in the Indigneous communities when she visits the Kimberley with St Norbert College's 2020 Kimberley Immersion tour. The boots will be delivered to Broome and Kununurra to the Gunduwa and PCYC organisations.

The Brett Claudius Kimberley Boot Drive will leave the legacy of being selfless and using your knowledge and skills to help everyone in WA to play and love our great game. We are all connected by our love for football, and should make sure we give all our communities the best opportunities we can.

If you are able to donate any pairs of boots, below are the collection points available in Perth:

  • St Norbert College
    135 Treasure Rd, Queens Park

  • Southern Districts Touch Association,
    Manning Rd, Karawara

Donations for the Brett Claudius Kimberley Boot Drive will close on the 8th September.
