Simply Energy AFLW Rookie SearchFriday, February 28, 2020 - 9:13 AM

Picture standing in the goals for Perth Glory on Tuesday before lacing up the boots for Fremantle or West Coast in the AFLW on Saturday.

Or shooting hoops in Netball or Basketball whilst playing at the elite level of Australia’s fastest growing women’s sport.

This is a dream that is not only being lived out by many in the AFLW system but is fast becoming a reality for young female stars throughout the sporting landscape.

Take Evie Gooch, Miccah Carter, Ebony Antonio or Grace Kelly just to name a few.

This multi-sport athlete opportunity is now being explored by the WA Female State U18s academy, launching the Simply Energy Rookie Search.

The WA AFLW Academy is offering multi-talented sportswomen the opportunity to connect to Australian Football while supporting your current sport.

Giving individuals the chance to make the Simply Energy WA AFLW U18s in 2020, ultimately preparing for the AFLW Draft in October.

This provides specialist support and training in a High-Performance environment specifically designed to improve your skills and understanding while cross training for your other sport.

Put simply, this is a very real pathway to the AFLW.

If you’re a female athlete representing State, National or A-Grade level. If your born between the years of 2001, 2002, 2003. If your near or above 180cm tall.

This is the AFLW opportunity of a lifetime and one not to miss out on.

The Simply Energy Rookie Search will take place on March 15 from 10-12am at the WA Football Commission (105 Banksia St Tuart Hill).

Nominations are open from 28 February – March 13.
