2018 Design a Jumper competition winners announcedThursday, September 27, 2018 - 9:19 AM

Mt Pleasant Primary School and Paraburdoo Primary School will be running out in new football jumpers when they take to the field next season after winning the 2018 'Design a Jumper' Football Competition run by the WA Football Commission.

Over 100 entries were received from across the State with the winning schools presented with a full set of football jumpers.

WA Football Commission Schools Specialist David Lindsay thanked Burley Sekem for their continued support of the competition.

“The competition has been very popular with schools for many years now and it continues to grow," he said.

"It is a great way to connect Australian Football with the classroom and provides children with an opportunity to showcase their artistic side and develop their school spirit.”

Year Six student Ben Hallam’s design was influenced by Indigenous art. He used the school colours and emblem to generate a new Mt Pleasant jumper that proved very popular with the judges.

The Paraburdoo jumper was the creation of Amelie Sanchez (Year Four), inspired by the red dirt of the Pilbara region.

The Design a Jumper Competition will return in 2019.
