SWAN Districts and Subiaco continued their winning starts to the 2018 Colts season while Luke English delivered a dominant display to lead Perth to a big win on the road against East Fremantle.

The Round 2 colts action saw Perth bounce back from an opening round loss to Swan Districts to defeat East Fremantle 15.9 (99) to 5.6 (36) at East Fremantle Oval on Saturday.

West Perth also hit back from losing to Claremont to open 2018 beating East Perth 7.12 (54) to 4.7 (31) at Leederville Oval.

Swan Districts remained undefeated holding on to win a thriller 5.12 (42) to 5.10 (40) against Peel Thunder at Steel Blue Oval.

Subiaco also made it two from two to start the 2018 colts season with a 14.10 (94) to 7.8 (50) victory over South Fremantle at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

The Round 3 action sees three of the four matches take place on Saturday with Claremont playing East Fremantle, Subiaco taking on Swan Districts and West Perth facing South Fremantle.

Then on Sunday, Peel Thunder hosts Perth at Bendigo Bank Stadium with bounce down at 9am.

 

EAST PERTH v WEST PERTH

West Perth's colts beat East Perth 7.12 (54) to 4.7 (31) to start the day's proceedings at Leederville Oval.

Scores were tied at quarter-time with East Perth managing two goals to one in the second term to go into half-time leading by five points.

But West Perth managed two goals to one in the third stanza and took a four-point lead into the last term where they would go on to kick three goals to just one behind from the Royals to see the Falcons win by 23 points.

Lachlan Scurria kicked two goals for West Perth's colts from five kicks and five tackles.

Tom Medhat gathered 33 possessions for the Falcons to go with 12 marks, eight tackles and four entries inside the forward 50.

Bailey Chalmers also had 29 touches and 10 marks while Nathan Murray amassed 29 disposals, Koopah Todd 26, Filimone Muavou 23, Alec Johnson 21, Daniel Rowe 20 and Jamie Dowen 19.

Eamon Gilbert also had 12 possessions, four tackles and 18 hit outs in the ruck.

East Perth's goal kickers were Jarrod Hamer-Mathew, Rhai-Arn Cox, Ben McGuire and Ashley Willcocks with Louis Miller picking up 22 possessions, Hamer-Mathew 21, Jaxon East 21 and Patrick Reilly 18.

 

SWAN DISTRICTS v PEEL THUNDER

Earlier in the day at Steel Blue Oval in the colts contest, Swan Districts held on to beat Peel Thunder despite kicking just the one second half goal, ending up winning 5.12 (42) to 5.10 (40).

Swans' colts kicked the only two goals of the opening quarter and then added two more to one in the second term to head into half-time leading by 22 points at half-time.

Swans didn’t manage a score in the third quarter with the Thunder working back into the contest kicking 3.5 to no score to head into the final term with a one-point advantage.

Then in the last quarter, it was one goal apiece with the black-and-whites ending up taking out the victory by two points.

Atem Deng kicked three goals for Swan Districts while Mitchell Bain amassed 28 possessions, Jackson Beeck 25, Graydon Wilson 22, Riley Garcia 21, Brenton Hilton 18, Joel Curtis 18, Joseph Hinder 16 (seven inside 50s) and Harry Edwards 16 (17 hit outs, 11 tackles).

Jarrad Fazioli, Michael Randall, Ben Middleton, Kilian Rawson and Andrew Butler were the goal kickers for Peel.

James Sturrock collected 22 possessions for the Thunder, Jarvis Pina 21 and Lachlan Riley 18.

 

EAST FREMANTLE v PERTH

Perth's colts delivered a dominant performance to end up beating East Fremantle by 63 points at East Fremantle Oval on Saturday.

Perth kicked five goals to one in the first quarter to lead by 25 points at quarter-time before going on to be up by 34 points at half-time, 26 at three quarter-time and then to kick six goals to nil in the last term to claim the 63-point triumph.

Luke English was the star for Perth kicking three goals to go with 33 possessions, eight inside-50 entries and seven marks.

Bailey Smith also kicked three goals for the Demons, Elijah Taylor two, Harry Zimmermann two and Simon Hayward two.

Deven Robertson gathered 33 disposals as well for Perth, Sydney Stack 24 (13 tackles), Ethan Hansen 24, Maverick Hamilton 22, Zac Casey 16 and Regan Clarke 16.

Dillon O'Reilly kicked two goals for East Fremantle as did Josh Ritchie to go with 10 possessions and 10 tackles.

Trent Rivers gathered 20 possessions for the Sharks and Corey Robinson 18 while Brynn Teakle had 23 hit outs in the ruck.

 

SOUTH FREMANTLE v SUBIACO

The day started with the colts clash at Fremantle Community Bank Oval with Subiaco taking out the 14.10 (94) to 7.8 (50) victory.

Jack Mayo kicked three goals for Subiaco's colts, Taj Schofield three, Nathan French two, Luke Foley two and Mitchell Georgiades two.

Foley also had 28 possessions, five marks and four tackles for the Lions while Liam Hickmott gathered 23 touches (eight marks), Zane Shellabear Healey 22, Will Hickmott 22, Tristan Hobley 17 (six tackles) and Duane Smith 17. Ruckman Xavier Peacock had 28 hit outs.

Luke Moore kicked three goals for South Fremantle while Kyle Hamersley gathered 27 possessions, Tom Blechynden 23, Jack Musika 21, Michael Redman 21 and James Russell 19.
