Round 4 Preview - South Fremantle v West PerthFriday, April 7, 2017 - 2:57 PM - by Chris Pike

THE final game of Round 4 of the 2017 McDonald's WAFL Premiership Season has the potential to be the best contest as South Fremantle hosts West Perth at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

South Fremantle returns home for the first time since Round 1 and hosts West Perth in a twilight WAFL fixture on Saturday to close out Round 4 of the 2017 season.

The Bulldogs come into the clash confident following a strong 43-point win over Peel Thunder last Saturday at Bendigo Bank Stadium on top of beating West Perth three times in 2016 including in the finals.

West Perth, meanwhile, had the bye in Round 1 before beating East Perth by 21 points and then losing at home to Subiaco by 11 points. Saturday's clash with the Bulldogs is the first away game for the Falcons in 2017.

The two teams met on three occasions in 2016 with South Fremantle beating West Perth in all three meetings.

It started in Round 1 at Fremantle Community Bank Oval with the Bulldogs beating the Falcons by 35 points. Then in Round 14 at HBF Arena, it was also a 35-point victory to South Fremantle.

The next clash was in the qualifying final at Fremantle Community Bank Oval and again South Fremantle beat West Perth to the tune of 53 points.

South Fremantle wingman Shaun Bewick will also bring up his 100th WAFL appearance on Saturday and it's only fitting it happens to be against his former team.

Bewick played 30 games at West Perth after making his debut in 2009 before joining South Fremantle in 2012 where he has on to play another 69 matches ahead of bringing up his century on Saturday.

South Fremantle delivered a strong performance last week to beat Peel but from that team, key defender Josh Pullman goes out of the side this Saturday against West Perth.

It's not ideal timing either as he would have been a natural match up for either Michael Lourey or Tyler Keitel who have been West Perth's main targets in attack so far in 2017.

Chris Luff appears the most natural inclusion for South Fremantle to replace Pullman, He has been in good form in the reserves to start the season and had another 24 possessions and six marks last week against Peel.

Ruckman Brock Higgins is getting closer to selection as well following 23 disposals, five marks and 41 hit outs last week against Peel.

Jacob Dragovich had 26 possessions and a goal last week as well in Adam Guglielmana's old No. 2 jumper to press his claims for his first league appearance for 2017 with South Fremantle.

Tyson Pickett is also making a strong case for himself for a call up after six goals from14 possessions and 10 tackles a week ago in Mandurah.

West Perth will welcome back premiership player, Sandover Medallist and fairest and best winner Aaron Black for the clash with the Bulldogs. He missed last week's loss to West Perth through a one-week suspension.

Conal Lynch is a chance to make his league debut also after some good form in the reserves. Last week against Subiaco, he had 25 possessions, seven tackles and a goal.

Dean Munns could also come straight back in for the Falcons while Mitch Peirce is the other player in contention following 23 disposals in the reserves last Saturday.

West Perth's debutant from last week Alexander Coe goes out of the side to take on South Fremantle on Saturday at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.
