Fisher claims Deppro State 18s MVP AwardWednesday, June 29, 2016 - 4:32 PM

Talented Perth Football Club midfielder Zac Fisher was named WA MVP at the conclusion of the AFL National 18s Championships today.

Fisher was among WA's best in their final game of the Championships against Victoria Metro at Simonds Stadium in Geelong today, collecting 17 disposals, laying five tackles and kicking a goal during WA's 23 point loss 8.10 (58) to 12.9 (81).

WA had early chances to make an impact against eventual champions Victoria Metro, entering the attacking 50 without reward in the opening quarter before Fisher finally found an avenue to goal in the second quarter.

Consecutive goals to Petrevski-Seton and Strnadica levelled the scores before Victoria Metro replied to take a two goal lead into the main break.

Victoria Metro extended their lead in the third and fourth quarters despite periods of strong attacking play from WA to take out the win and the 2016 Championship.

Petrevski-Seton gathered 18 disposals after a strong first-half for WA, while Quinton Narkle (17 disposals, two goals), Matt Guelfi (16 disposals), Sam Powell-Pepper (14 disposals) and Shai Bolton (13 disposals) were among WA's top posession winners

Victoria Metro key forward Patrick Kerr finished with three goals to help set up the win for his side.

Luke Bunker (25 disposals), Andrew McGrath (24), Tim Taranto (24) and Dylan Clarke (23) led the disposals for Victoria Metro.
