Nominate your club's unsung-heroTuesday, May 10, 2016 - 3:15 PM

Each year the West Australian Football Commission, in partnership with The Sunday Times, recognises volunteers and administrators for their outstanding contribution to Australian Football through The Sunday Times WA Football Volunteer of the Year program.

Each club, league or association is invited to nominate an outstanding volunteer who may have contributed to the completion of a major or significant project throughout the year or they may be someone who has contributed in a number of roles over a long period.

At a national level, the AFL works with each state and territory to select a Volunteer of the Year award winner who receives two tickets to the Toyota AFL Grand Final (with flights and accommodation) and the opportunity to walk in the Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade.

Selection criteria

  • Must have given notable voluntary service to Australian Football.
  • Must be a willing, voluntary contributor, having received no income from football (NB honoraria excepted).
  • Must be an ambassador for the game of football who acts and works for the best interest of the game, never bringing the game into disrepute.
  • Those making nominations should make no more than one nomination
