WAAFL Club Development and Game Environment Coordinator

The West Australian Football Commission is seeking a dynamic and pro-active person to join their team as the WAAFL Club Development and Game Environment Coordinator.  This position is located at the home of football in WA, Patersons Stadium, and will be responsible for assisting quality growth and success of clubs with the WAAFL. The WAAFL is in its 90th season this year and now has 63 clubs and 237 teams.

The key focus of the role is to:

  • Coordinate and deliver on the WAAFL strategic goals aimed at volunteer and club development and quality game environments.
  • Oversees volunteer and club development programs that promote good business practices and build the WAAFL’s reputation within the community.
  • To enhance the WAAFL volunteer experience with support in regards to skill, resource and club development.
  • Commit to researching, identifying and sharing best practices across all WAAFL clubs for the betterment of the game.

Experience required: (Essential or Desirable)

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in business management. (E)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications (E)
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and relationship building skills (E)
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and contribute to the development of business planning and long term growth of Australian Rules Football. (E)
  • Extensive understanding of WA Football structure and the issues involved in club development. (D)
  • Ability to work outside of normal working hours (D)
  • Experience in working with all levels of local government and private business partners.
