Regional Manager Kimberley

WA Football seeks expressions of interest from an energetic person capable of strategically leading a motivated and dynamic group of employees and regional volunteers in growing the great game of Australian Rules Football (AFL).

The Regional Manager will be a key resource to the Kimberley Region of WA and will have a range of duties that will include, but not be limited to:

  • Providing the administrative support to enable the Region to “Grow the Game” and achieve healthy outcomes.
  • Having the responsibility for football reaching its full potential within the Kimberley region.
  • Overseeing the strategic development programs within the environments of both junior and senior football, including some participation responsibilities.
  • Developing and managing the implementation of the region’s vision and business plan, complementing the Top 6 Game Environment Issues.

Selection Criteria:

  • Experience in the development and delivery of sporting programs for junior/ youth.
  • Have a sound knowledge of school football systems.
  • Sound knowledge of issues relating to the development of football, and priorities of current development policy.
  • Sound knowledge of the community football system.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated personal initiative and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of the WA Talent pathway.
  • Computer skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, planning and organisational skills.
  • Basic understanding of research skills/needs analysis and how these needs relate to the marketing and development of football.
  • Level 1 Coaching Accreditation.
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or background in sports management and related areas.

As the WAFC is looking to establish closer links with Regional Football, the successful applicant would ideally be based locally, seeking long-term, full-time employment in a strategic leadership role. In partnership with the Regional Football Development Committee Chairman, the successful applicant will be a highly motivated person who can demonstrate the characteristics we are looking for to achieve the desired outcomes involved with the position.
