In September 2012, the West Australian Football Commission and Patersons Stadium hosted the Wallabies v Springboks International Rugby match followed by the 2012 AFL 2nd Elimination Final between West Coast Eagles and North Melbourne.

Patersons Stadium is confirmed to host the Summadayze music festival on Sunday, January 6, 2013 headlined by The Chemical Brothers, M.I.A. Mark Ronson and Kimbra.
It will be the first time Summadayze, now in its 11th year, is held at Patersons Stadium after shifting from the Perth City foreshore. The festival will utilise both Patersons Stadium facilities and the adjacent Kitchener Park.
Patersons Stadium General Manager Gavin Taylor said that venue management was looking forward to delivering this exciting event.
New Liquor Control Regulations at Patersons Stadium

New Liquor Control Regulations come into effect at Patersons Stadium for this weekend’s International Rugby and AFL Finals games on September 8 and 9.
The new regulations, announced recently by Racing and Gaming Minister Terry Waldron, come into effect on September 5 and make it an offence to bring liquor into a number of major Perth sporting arenas, including Patersons Stadium.
Anyone caught doing so will now face a penalty of up to $2000.
The Australian Rugby Union have announced their Fan Zones activities for Perth in the lead up to the upcoming International Rugby match at Patersons Stadium on Saturday 8th September.
The Qantas Wallabies will take on two-time World Cup champions South Africa at Patersons Stadium when the game's latest jewel in the crown - The Castrol Edge Rugby Championship -is launched later this year.
The Fan Zone activities in Perth will include player appearances and will be held on the following:
Monday 3rd September at University of WA Sports Ground, McGillivray Road, Mt Claremont, 3:30pm - 5:00pm: Qantas Wallabies Open Training Session
Wednesday 5th September at Northbridge Piazza, 4:30pm - 7:30pm: Perth Braai with Qantas Wallabies and Springboks
Thursday 6th September at Karrinyup Shopping Centre, 1-2pm: Qantas Wallabies Town

2012 Chris Mainwaring Legends Match

On Saturday October 6 under the lights of Paterson Stadium, the OWLS (Older Wiser Larger Slower) from West Coast Eagles will take on past legends from the Geelong Football Club in the Chris Mainwaring Legends Match for Telethon presented by BHP Billiton.
The fifth anniversary of this Telethon event will mark the 20th anniversary of the 1992 grand final between West Coast Eagles and Geelong which saw the Eagles win by 28 points and their first premiership victory.
Past players from both teams from this historic grand final will be pulling on their boots again to go up against each other in the name of a great cause.
The Chris Mainwaring Legends Match for Telethon presented by BHP Billiton will be one event in a week of events celebrating the 20th anniversary of this grand final.
