INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS:

• Participants must arrive in jogging shoes and bring their footy boots.
• Participants will also need to bring weather appropriate clothing, a change of dry clothes, a named water bottle, any additional snacks required, a named bag, hat, sunscreen, and plenty of energy! You are more than welcome to bring items to get signed by athletes at a time specified. The program will take place rain or shine. In extreme weather, provision will be made for some sessions to be conducted under cover.
• Lunch will be provided on both days (a selection of fresh sandwiches or rolls, fresh fruit and water). Please notify us of any food allergies or special dietary requirements. Bring further snacks if required.

Football career in a nutshell

• 12 seasons, two premierships, one club best and fairest award (1992) and one Norm Smith Medal (1994)
• Sits fifth on West Coast's all-time games list and has played more finals (25) than any other Eagle
• Finished top 10 in best and fairest voting eight times in his 12 seasons and was three times runner-up
• Greatest achievement is winning the Club Champion Award in the year of West Coast's first premiership (1992)

ABOUT THE DEAN KEMP FOOTBALL ACADEMY

Despite living in idyllic surf town Margaret River for the past decade, Dean Kemp (the skinny kid from Kalgoorlie) has maintained a presence at the West Coast Eagles, mentoring some of the club's young midfielders and working as a part-time skills coach for two months in 2011. This time spent at the club has re-ignited Kemp's passion for the game and he is excited about his big plans to establish a football academy in the state's south-west.

"I've always loved my footy and something that brings me a lot of joy is passing that love of the game onto my kids," Kemp says.

"I came up with the idea of starting a football academy when I realised that there were a lot more kids out there than just Sunny and Robbi who could benefit from my experience and knowledge of Australian football. And so the Dean Kemp Football Academy was born.

"This year, I've got back into footy and I've seen so many kids who are keen. People come up to me and ask me to be involved, and I just thought now's the perfect time. I'd like to give a bit back.

"I've spoken to a lot of people down there and I've got a lot of support.

"I want a fair bit of the academy to be skills-based, the fundamentals of football—kicking, handballing, how to keep your feet, where to run—things that kids don't always instinctively have.

"I also want to teach them that it's a lifestyle, not just a sport."
