INTRODUCTION
The AFL School Ambassador (AFLSA) program was introduced into WA schools in 2004. It aims to produce enhanced educational outcomes in literacy, numeracy, health and physical education by providing quality resources to schools and recognising and rewarding teachers who strongly promote our game in their school and community.
The AFL School Ambassador of the Year awards will be presented to three of WA’s best AFL School Ambassadors. The awards should provide additional motivation and fantastic rewards for these teachers who perform at a high level throughout 2010.
The West Australian Football Commission (WAFC), together with the AFL, will present three AFL School Ambassador awards in 2010:
Best Primary School AFL School Ambassador
The best AFL School Ambassador from a WA primary school will win a trip for two (2) to the MCG to watch an AFL Elimination Final during the weekend of 4-5 September.
Best Secondary School AFL School Ambassador
The best WA secondary school AFL School Ambassador will win a trip for two (2) to the MCG to watch an AFL Elimination Final during the weekend of 4-5 September.
The WA AFL School Ambassador of the Year
The WA AFL School Ambassador of the Year will be the best overall ambassador and will win a trip for two (2) to the MCG to watch the AFL Grand Final during the weekend of 25 -26th September. This award is supported by Alinta through their partnership with the Fremantle Football Club.
