As major sponsors of the NAB AFL Auskick program, NAB has initiated an Auskick Volunteer of the Year program to reward and recognise volunteers that go above and beyond in providing service to the local community NAB AFL Auskick centres.
Wayne French, NAB AFL Auskick Coordinator at the Coolbinia Junior Football Club, in the East Perth District, has this year been named the West Australian NAB AFL Auskick volunteer of the Year. Wayne receives a trip to the 2011 AFL Grand Final, including flights, accommodation and tickets for the big game.
From all the state finalists a National NAB AFL Auskick Volunteer of the Year will be selected. This overall winner will accompany the AIS Academy under 17's squad on their training camp in 2012 and receive $5000 spending money – a true money-can't-buy experience! The West Australian Football Commission wishes Wayne all the very best.
As part of this process each District and Region selected a winner and each of these NAB AFL Auskick volunteers will receive a plaque from NAB for their ongoing contribution to the program. The following outstanding volunteers were recognised in each District and Region as NAB AFL Auskick Volunteer of the Year.

The WA Football Commission has an outstanding football volunteer acknowledgment program that is the premier recognition program across Australia, and the NAB AFL Auskick Volunteer of the Year Program complements this program extremely well. Manager of Club Development and Coaching, Glenn Morley said “WA had more than 46,000 volunteers participating every week in the game at all levels and without them the game would be lost”.
“There are so many aspects of our game that just wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and commitment of our volunteers including those that volunteer in NAB AFL Auskick,” Mr Morley said.
WAFC Manager of Junior Football Troy Kirkham said “NAB should be congratulated for their ongoing commitment as the major sponsor of the Auskick program, and for their support of our fantastic volunteers”.
