First ever Female football radio show in WA

“Talking Female Footy with Ange and the Fatman” is the brain child of the Swans District Manager Angela Doyle and WAFC Coordinator Female Football Clint Degebrodt.

The show is hosted by the characters “Ange” and the “Fatman” who welcome guests into the studio and regular co hosts from around the female footy world including district development staff, players, coaches and administrators.

Proudly hosted by Sportfm 91.3, Talking Female Football is broadcast live on Tuesday Nights between 7pm and 8pm. Sportfm station manager Jason Datillo gave the show the nod eight weeks ago and the Program has just aired its sixth broadcast and remains a female footy first in WA.

“It’s great to have the Female Footy Show on Sportfm 91.3 as it is local and unique content,” Datillo said. “It’s also nice to continue to partner the WAFC to Grow the Game in WA.”

The show discusses in depth the Division 1 competition of the State’s premier female competition, the WAWFL. It also touches on all things to do with female footy from all girls Auskick to all Australian, from Dockers Cup to state 18s, from school girl’s championships to the Smarter than Smoking Schoolgirls Cup.

It also includes youth girls, junior girls and all the action from the WAWFL, the rising stars and all competition scores.

“So far Talking Female Footy with Ange and the Fatman has built an audience amongst the WAWFL and Youth Girls players but has started to spread into the wider sport fan world,” Degebrodt said.

“Initially an exercise in promoting Female Footy, not only has it done this so far, but we have found it to be a great vehicle to acknowledge some of the outstanding players and hard working volunteers in Female Footy”

Along with the support of Sportfm, Talking Female Footy with Ange and the Fatman also receives support from Just Wine and Tapas Bar in Como and from the Auskick, Smarter Than Smoking Cup, Youth Footy and Dockers Cup. Wayne and Lexine French, Clayton Anderson and Darren Davis have also thrown their weight behind female footy.

“It’s a great initiative and a good quality program; I stay informed and get a laugh or two. Female footy is in a boom at the moment and I’m happy to be on board.” Davis said.

The fastest growing sport in Australia all on Sportfm. It's fun, concise and features female footy's elite players. If it's female footy, it will be on "Female Footy with Ange and the Fatman"
