Major 150th schools event

West Coast and Fremantle players are throwing their support behind this Thursday’s 150th Major Schools Event at Langley Park on the Perth foreshore.

Dockers players will be involved in the morning session with the 1500 school children who will take part in the day, while Eagles players will take over in the afternoon.

The event is designed to help celebrate the 150th anniversary of Australian Football with a series of activities, competitions and promotions involving primary school children and AFL School Ambassadors .

Fremantle players will do the morning session and be involved in activities such as Freo Fast Ball, Freo Kwik Kick and Freo Leaderball.

While West Coast players will take part in the afternoon session which will focus on Eagles Faction Footy games.

Straight after the lunch break a special banner will be unveiled. The two sides of the banner will each boast the artwork of the winning designs from the “Design-a-banner” competition run by The West Australian.

The event will highlight our national, indigenous and culturally-significant sport, healthy eating and physical activity through the “1 Seven – Move More, Eat Well” program, supported by Medibank Australia.

Every child will receive a special Australian Football 150th Year Certificate with AFL Legend and 150-year Ambassador Kevin Sheedy’s signature.
