The key leadership role for the WACFL has now been entrusted to South West stalwart Terry House after long standing President Ken Baxter officially retired at the West Australian Country Football League meeting on Friday, 28 March.

House has an outstanding playing and coaching record within the South West Football League and was recently elected in their all stars team of 50 years. Mr House has been on the WACFL Executive for the last nine years and was Senior Vice President during 2007.

Mr House said, “I am honoured to follow in the footsteps of Bud Byfield, John Lussick and Ken Baxter and am looking forward to accepting some of the challenges facing country football and working with a new and exciting Executive.”

Long time football administrators Milton Milloy (Morawa) and John Shadbolt (Mukinbudin) were elected to the board at the AGM in February and attended the meeting on 28 March.

“There are exciting times ahead for country football,” said WACFL General Manager Cameron Knapton.

“With Terry’s experience and strong leadership background, I am looking forward to working with our new President to ensure football remains the premier winter sport throughout rural and regional WA.”
