Patersons Stadium is confirmed to host the Summadayze music festival on Sunday, January 6, 2013 headlined by The Chemical Brothers, M.I.A. Mark Ronson and Kimbra.
It will be the first time Summadayze, now in its 11th year, is held at Patersons Stadium after shifting from the Perth City foreshore. The festival will utilise both Patersons Stadium facilities and the adjacent Kitchener Park.
Patersons Stadium General Manager Gavin Taylor said that venue management was looking forward to delivering this exciting event.
“Patersons Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium and has hosted many big music events in the past including U2, Andre Rieu, ACDC and Bon Jovi. Now we are looking forward to hosting our first Summadayze music festival,” Mr Taylor said.
“The Stadium has the capacity required, is central to the city and provides good access to public transport, and has good food, beverage and toilet facilities, making it an ideal location for this event.
“We will work with the promoters, Mellen Events, and the City of Subiaco to deliver a great experience for everyone that attends and develop a noise and traffic management plan to minimize the impact on local residents.
“Turf protection measures will also be put in place to ensure that the high quality of the Patersons Stadium surface is maintained for future sporting events,” he said.
Tickets for the event go on sale Thursday, September 20 through www.ticketmaster.com.au
