Coaches can learn from the experts

FORMER Hawthorn and Carlton premiership coach David Parkin will arrive in WA next month along with current Geelong Skills Acquisition Coach David Wheadon to head up an AFL Level Two Coaching Course.

Registrations are now open for the course, which will be held at Murdoch University on Saturday and Sunday, March 13 and 14. Key note presenters will include Parkin and Wheadon along with WAFL League coaches and WA State Academy Coaches Rob Wiley, Craig Starcevich and Brad Wira.

The program will include practical sessions and formal presentations from experts in their fields. Organised by the WA Football Commission High Performance department, the course will commence with a two day workshop, followed by a WAFL Tactical Game Analysis session, training feedback and match day observations.

COURSE PREREQUISITES

  • Must be coaching at Youth (13-17yr ) or Senior (18+) level in season 2010
  • Coaches at the Auskick level (5-8 yr) or Junior Rules (9-12yr) are not eligible
  • Coaches to have completed Level One Youth or Senior Course
  • Necessary to have been coaching for a minimum of 3 years
  • Signed endorsement of enrolment form is required from your club President, school Principal or WAFL/ Regional Development Staff.
