Swans dive into Gold Level

Upper Swan JFC has dived into the Quality Club Program, becoming only the second club in the Swans District to secure gold level accreditation. The gold level recognises exceptional club administration and provides stakeholders with the tools to develop policies relating to disabilities, racial and religious tolerance, risk management, strategic planning and volunteer recognition.

The Swans have quickly progressed to become one of the benchmark clubs in the Swans District, delivering a series of community programs including the Mentoring Program, Peet Family Day and Swan Valley Cup. The Player Mentoring Program utilises Year 12 players, Fraser Davies and Simon Williams as coaches and umpires to provide Auskick and Modified’s players with positive linkages to senior players.
The Swans hosted a Family Day in partnership with Peet at Avon Ridge Estate in Brigadoon. Upper Swan JFC Auskick Coordinator, Tim Hoath delivered a series of skill development sessions to benefit the broader Brigadoon community and provide kids with a pathway to Upper Swan JFC. The Swan Valley Cup, which is delivered in consultation with the Swans District, is a 10 week 9-per-side competition for boys and girls, aged 11 to 12.

Swans District Manager, Isaac Stewart said its success in the Quality Club Program is no doubt due to the dedication of volunteers such as Upper Swan JFC President Hamish More, whose dynamic leadership has improved the professionalism of Upper Swan JFC in 2012. “I’d like to recognise Hamish and his dedicated band of volunteers for squaring away gold level in the Quality Club Program,” said Stewart.

Upper Swan JFC President, Hamish More said the gold level sets the scene for a bright future. “The gold level shows that Upper Swan JFC is going in the right direction in terms of its administrative and coaching practices and we are hoping this will encourage more kids to register as players in 2013,” said More.
